Telecaster Time
Monday, 15 February 2010 19:42

That's right! It's Telecaster time.
I've been playing my Telecaster for about a month now... I've really grown fond of the way it feels and sounds. In the past I didn't quite understand the telecaster hype but now I totally get it.
So... I had to hook it up like I like to do. I've been watching telecaster players a lot online and I have a clear sound of what I like... so...
My Amalfitano pickups arrive tonight... I have to hit up the post office to get my other parts... tomorrow morning.... Bournes 24mm 250kA guitar pots, mojotone pio .1uf tone cap, cloth/wax wire, oak grigsby 3way switch etc etc etc. I really dug those paper in oil caps in my stratocasters so I'm sure they will go great in the telecaster. I'm going to keep the 6 saddle modern bridge... The compensated 3 saddles look cool but the 6 saddles work find and allow for more precise action/intonation.

Rocket Stoves and Rocket Thermal Mass Heaters
Saturday, 12 September 2009 00:50
Today while I was surfing the web I came across a forum post about rocket stoves... I had heard the phrase before but I didn't know what they were.
I did a little bit of research and wow... this is exactly what I've been looking for. I grill a lot of food and this will be the perfect sidekick for my grill. A grill-side stove if you will.
This could also be how Amanda and I end up heating our off grid homestead when we leave the city. Looks like your morning fire can keep your thermal mass area warm for the rest of the day. Check out my youtube channel for some vids that I liked:
Starting a wattle fence
Monday, 31 August 2009 11:39
Today I collected wood out back for a wattle fence. Lop here lop there and some hand saw... Now I have materials for the posts. We have a shitload of sapplings around the land but were going to harvest them as we go so they are as plyable as possible. Here's the photo:
