EJ Stratocaster, Vaping Guide, P90X and More!
Well it's been a week since I posted... oops. I was sick for my entire vacation... that sucked... layed on the couch and watched movies. Sore throat, sinus pressure, fever, stuffy nose, runny nose, stuffy nose, runny nose, and on and on and on. Being sick I missed about a week of p90x ... started again this week... we're on phase two... I am sore all over. Awesome! Weird lol.
Saw the Harold and Kumar movies for the first time LOL... Zombieland was cool... The Big Lebowski was awesome just like it always is... the dude abides !!!! Fuck yeah !!! THE DUDE ABIDES ... there were more but I don't remember what they were lol... I watched the first half of the "America the story of us" documentaries... very cool history docs... I watched the Atheism: A Rough History of Disbelief documentaries... they are super awesome!
The Captain's Guide to Vaping...
I finally finished the first version of my vaping guide... for all the people that ask me about my electronic cigarette... I wrote an introduction to electronic cigarettes just for you... it's sort of a draft but I went ahead and made it public.
I've been vaping for about 7 months and I feel the best I've felt since I was 13 years old. I can breathe, I can exercise, I can smell scents, I can taste food and all sorts of awesome benefits. I'm no longer fatigued as a way of life.
I've tried to write out everything that it took to make the switch from tobacco to electronic cigarettes as well as give as many helpful tips and instructions as I could think of.
I will revise the guide at a later date or when things change in the ecig scene.
So please... if you smoke... check out my vaping guide.
New Stratocaster!!! Hopefully...
It's a long story but I am trading my telecaster, some money, splitting the cost of some repairs and doing some electronics work in exchange for the Eric Johnson Stratocaster that used to be my uncle Mark's.
Part of the trade is splitting the cost of getting the holes in the front of the telecaster repaired... someone had a bigsby on the tele and then filled the holes with glue or something before I ever got it... I really hope we can find someone that can repair it without having to finish the whole top... I've seen worse things repaired to perfection so I think it will all work out.
This stratocaster is super awesome! It's finished in extra thin nitro lacquer. The body is a 2 color sunburst just like the ones from the 50s which is one of my favorite finishes. The guitar has a 2 piece light weight alder body. It's very resonant. The quartersawn maple neck tapers from a soft V at the nut up to a nice C style at the 12th fret. The fingerboard is a 12 radius which I absolutely love. This guitar feels great to play, sounds great unplugged and of course sounds great plugged in. The pickups are based off of 50s and 60s models and have those bell tones everyone talks about on the neck setting. The middle pickup has a great quack to it just like I like. The bridge pickup isn't piercing but still has plenty of cut. The guitar has a thin head stock with no string tree to give less friction. Everything seems just right on this guitar.
Usually there is something I want to swap when I get a new guitar but with this one I can leave it as is... very special. To top it all off... once upon a time it was my uncle's guitar. I learned a lot of what I know about playing guitar from him. I got a call a few days ago saying that it was possibly available for trade... I'm very lucky to be able to try and work out a trade for it. Awesome.
